“Do you remember the cabin?” I asked. His eyes flickered to mine, and his face softened.
“Of course, I remember, Scarlet. I remember every word you said. I remember the color of your hair, the way you smelled like strawberries, what you wore the night I took your virginity, and how warm your silky skin felt against mine. I remember your lips tasting like peaches when we kissed. I can still hear your laugh. The way you made me feel good about myself. Scarlet, I remember every damn thing like it happened yesterday. It replays in my head over and over like a record player and it fucking KILLS me that Sam gets to have you. That asshole doesn’t realize how fucking lucky he is, and it pisses me off to hear how shitty he treats you. Is that what you want me to say, Scarlet? Is it? Because I don’t know what you want from me.” I started to walk away, but he pulled me back. He lifted my chin and kissed me. I pushed him away at first out of confusion.
